Buffalo Business Report - Thursday, June 12th 2014

WS Development Company is in the final stages of purchasing the Northtown Plaza.  Before the ink is even put to paper on the deal, a $10 million investment plan has been announced.  Business First reports the new owner would tear down an existing Bon-Ton and bring in a Whole Foods supermarket.  That requires approval from the Town of Amherst.  Other cosmetic changes would then follow.  WS Development is expected to finalize its deal by late summer.

Kaleida Health has contracted with The McGuire Group to take over management of its HighPointe on Michigan site.  That move comes six weeks after charges of neglect against 17 of its nursing home workers.

Work on the new $4 million Ambulatory Surgery Unit at Sister's Hospital continues.  That new unit includes renovations to the hospital’s existing Surgery Department, three new operating rooms and a family waiting area.

Amherst based Heatwave Heating and Cooling has been certified as a Home Performance with Energy Star Contractor, offering free in-home energy audits through the program.
