Cartagena's Sister Takes the Stand

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) In day four of the Candace Cartagena trial, the defendant's sister took the stand.

Casey Lamarca says she entered the house and found Bianca dead, wondering what was going on.
She wept as she told prosecutors how she saw a blanket pulled back and the 8 year old Bianca was dead.

Prosecutors have also called a convicted felon to the stand in the Candace Cartagena trial.

Avery Ray admits he had an intimate relationship with Cartagena after they met while in treatment at ECMC in 2010. Ray says Cartagena told him she remembers putting Bianca to bed that night, took pills and could not remember anything else. Ray says he ended the relationship, because he couldn't understand why she didn't have family and friends to support her.

Cartagena is charged with suffocating her daughter Bianca in 2010.
