Cuomo: Devil in Details on Common Core & Teacher Evaluations
Albany, NY (WBEN) Common Core is on the mind of Governor Cuomo as the final week of the legislative session continues in Albany.
The governor says those rallying in Albany to separate student performance from transcripts should rest easy. "In the budget, we de-linked Common Core results with the students' performance and transcripts because we are aware of the issues in Common Core," Cuomo told the Capitol Pressroom Tuesday.
He says the question is the relevance of Common Core on teacher evaluations. "We do not have an agreement yet," says Cuomo. "I think it should be taken into consideration. How you do that is the devil in the details, and we're in that devil in the details stage."
