HEAT ADVISORY: Genesee, Orleans Could Feel Like 100

All of Western New York will be hot for the next several days, but even more so today in portions of Orleans and Geneesee counties, where a National Weather Service HEAT ADVISORY warns of a heat index hitting 100.

Hot and humid weather will remain across the entire WNY region through Wednesday.

The AccuWeather forecast says our temperatures will reach a high of 87 today.

Higher humidity and lighter winds toward the middle of the state-  shown in the orange areas on the map at left-- will make that feel as if it is close to 100 degrees, according to the advisory (below)

It will be mainly dry this morning, but showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon.

Some of those rainstorms could bring toprrential downpours, large hail and damaging wind gusts.  A cold front will cross the region Wednesday, with temperatures returning to near normal levels on Thursday.

For Independence Day, expect clear to partly cloudy skies and a high temperature near 73.
