Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - Orchard Park Police say 21 year old Sean Keenan is being held at the Erie County Holding Center after being charged with the killing of his 70 year old father, John Keenan.
John Keenan's body was found Monday morning inside his home at 2 Hillsboro Drive, and had been on scene investigating since.
Orchard Park Police Chief Mark Pacholec says Sean Keenan is charged with 2nd degree murder and is due in court Friday.
Police say there was nobody in the home other than the deceased Keenan when they arrived at about 9:30 Monday morning.
In his mug shot, taken Monday evening, Keenan appears smiling and with the front of his head apparently shaved. "I don't know what normal is for him," Pacholec said. "In my dealings with him once in the past he did not appear in that condition." Although police has dealt with Keenan in the past, they say he has no prior criminal record. Pacholec did say that police had been at the home on 2 Hillsboro previously.
Keenan's mother was not present at the home, police say she was assisting an ailing family member out of state.
Orchard Park Police and investigators from Erie County Central Police Services have been on the scene at the home on Hillsboro at the corner of South Freeman.
Hillsboro Drive is an upscale area of Orchard Park, once home to Buffalo Bills players Jim Kelly and Marshawn Lynch. Neighbors say the house had been vacant and was for sale, however police indicated that the Keenan's both lived there.
