Buffalo Man Charged with Lying About Being Robbed

Jamestown, NY (WBEN) Jamestown Police say a Buffalo man lied when he told investigators he was robbed at gunpoint while making a delivery.

30 year old Eric Legos says he was getting into his truck. "As soon as I open the door, kid was there, I closed the door a bit, he said give me your wallet, he snatched it out of my wallet and took off like a bat out of hell," claimed Legos as he was making his delivery at Bardo's Liquor Store in Jamestown Friday afternoon.

Chief Harry Snellings says during the course of the investigation, it was determined no robbery took place. Legos is charged with falsely reporting an incident. Snellings says police and other agencies searched for 90 minutes.
