Amherst Highway Superintendent to Retire

Amherst, NY (WBEN) Amherst Highway Superintendent Bob Anderson is retiring on September 27th, citing health concerns.

In a letter to Supervisor Dr. Barry Weinstein, Anderson says he was proud of the way the department has managed its workforce more efficiently and bringing accountability to the department.

Weinstein says he's worked well with Anderson over the last 5 1/2 years. He says Anderson's role in bidding the refuse contract reduced costs by $2.6 million each year.

The town board now can fill the remaning 15 months of the term by a majority vote. The town is accepting applications by sending a resume and letter of interest to the Supervisor's and/or Councilmembers' office at 5583 Main Street, Williamsville, NY 14221.
