Tonawanda, NY (WBEN) - Town of Tonawanda Police have arrested a Rochester area man after he participated in inappropriate online chats with someone he thought was a 14 year old girl.
The Tonawanda Police Computer Forensic Unit, working in conjunction with the New York State Police Crimes Against Children Task Force, announced they have concluded a several month long investigation with the arrest of a Newark, NY man.
David SanAngelo, 44 , was charged with 4 counts of Disseminating Indecent Materials to Minors in the 2nd Degree and 1 count of Disseminating Indecent Materials to Minors in the 1st Degree.
SanAngelo participated in both chatting (via online chat programs) as well as web cam communications with an undercover police officer whom he thought was a 14 year old girl.
SanAngelo was arrested after the Town of Tonawanda Police Department with assistance of the Newark, NY Police Department served a search warrant at his residence, where computers and other electronic devices were seized.
He has been arraigned and released on bail. The case has been transferred to Erie County Court for Grand Jury proceedings.
