Report: Toronto Group's Meeting was 'Drama-Free'
Toronto, ON (WBEN) The Toronto group led by Jon Bon Jovi and Rogers Communications met with Morgan Stanley for their management presentation meeting. Reports say the meeting was routine and "drama-free."
The Toronto Sun's John Kryk quotes sources who says the meeting had "an unspoken, shared sense, that...we all have to go through with it, so let's just get through it." The meeting had both sides presenting their plans for the team and answering questions.
The Sun quotes sources there is a sense of pessimism among the group since two weeks ago, when the group's bid fell short of one submitted by Sabres owner Terry Pegula. The group was also told to bolster assurances the franchise would stay in Buffalo. Those sources say the re-bid was kept alive to give Pegula the impression he was in a race for the team and the urgency to keep the team in town.
