New York, NY (WBEN) Jill Kelly says her husband Jim has wrapped up his checkup in New York City and preliminary scans look good.
But Jill says biopsies will be needed to confirm Jim's cancer has been eradicated, and will not know for sure until the procedure is completed.
"The treatments so far have completely eliminated Kelly's pain, and his level of function has essentially returned to normal, and an examination shows no sign of cancer," says Dr. Peter Costantino of Lenox Hill Hospital. "Further, on physical examination, there is no evidence of the cancer."
Over the coming week, a series of tests will be performed to determine if any further treatment will be needed. "It is possible that no further treatment will be required, and the testing over the next week
will define this issue," says Constantino.
