Report: Bon Jovi Toronto Bid on 'Life Support'
Toronto, ON (WBEN) As we learned of the initial bids for the Buffalo Bills, the Toronto-based bid led by rocker Jon Bon Jovi may be on its last legs.
The Toronto Sun's John Kryk reports the group cancelled a planned tour of Ralph Wilson Stadium with no plans to reschedule. He quotes as one source as saying "They're hanging on by the skin of their teeth. The bid's on life support."
The report says the bid is in trouble because of the limited bidding power with Bon Jovi in the lead, and continuing concerns over whether the group would actually keep the Bills in Buffalo.
Kryk reports the sources as saying the Bon Jovi group, which includes Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and the Rogers family, will assess their bid and spend the next week trying to determine how to make a more competitive final bid.
Forbes reported the value of the Bills at $935 million, and the Bon Jovi bid was at $820 million. Terry Pegula has the high bid at $890 million.
