Local construction projects are off to a pretty good start. Work is expected to begin on the $15 million Aloft Hotel on Burgess Boulevard. That’s the street just before the McDonalds on Genesee Street. Business First reports the six-story hotel will have 153 rooms.

The current local average for a gallon of unleaded gas is $1.85. That’s four cents more than the statewide average. A year ago, the same gallon cost $1.44 more.
 
Moog Incorporated has purchased a Lithuanian-based medical device manufacturer. The purchase price was $21 million in cash.

The AAA reports the local average cost for a gallon of unleaded gas ends the year at $1.85. The pump price hasn’t been that low since May of 2004.
 
Buffalo’s pro football team was in the upper half of the league in average attendance for home games this year.

The current average cost for a gallon of unleaded gas remains $1.87. That’s forty-four cents less than the price one month ago. 
 
Seneca Gaming Corporation has released information about its fiscal year 2008 and the first two months of 2009. For October and November, net revenues are down 5.2% compared to a year ago in the same period.

Here’s another Christmas present for us all. The AAA says the current cost for a gallon of unleaded gas is down to $1.90 in the region. A year ago the price was $1.38 higher.
 
M&T Bank will get $600 million dollars from the U.S. Treasury Department through the government’s Capital Purchase Program.

The AAA says the current average price for a gallon of gas in the region is $3.21.  The statewide average is under $3 at $2.98.  Nationally, motorists are paying an average of fifty-four cents per gallon less than we are here.
 
Independent Health’s community-based plans will see an average rate increase of 11.5% next year.

Buffalo, NY - Buffalo’s Delaware North companies has been awarded a major gaming contract.  Governor David  Paterson has chosen the company to run a 4,500-slot-machine casino at Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens.   The contract is worth about $370-million.

The Buffalo area’s average price per gallon for unleaded gas has dropped another cent to $3.85.  It marks the lowest price for gas here since May 12th.  The price also reflects a nine cent drop over the past month.
