Williamsville, NY (WBEN) Governor Cuomo has used executive orders in his time as governor, but he says it's not the use that's the issue, it's the philosophy, especially with President Trump's executive order on immigration.
"The use of the executive order is not my point. My point is the substance of the message," says Cuomo. "It is the philosophy of being anti-immigrant," which Cuomo says is what Trump's immigration order recently struck down by an appellate court is.
Cuomo says New Yorkers accept immigration as a way of life. "We get that we are all from somewhere else. Unless you are Native American, by definition, you are an immigrant, and it is a great source of strength. My point is I disagree with the philosophy."
Cuomo was in Williamsville to tout a property tax reduction proposal and in Buffalo for a fundraiser Thursday.
