Collins Going After Lawmakers, Comptroller in November Election

WBEN (Buffalo, NY)  -- Election day may be months away but Erie County's executive is looking to unseat some sitting incumbents.

Chris Collins is taking on lawmakers who he says are not supportive of his plans to improve Erie County. He says he was elected on a reform platform and met with Comptroller Mark Poloncarz and Legislators, including Bob Reynolds and Michelle Ianello to move his agenda forward. Collins says the three are obstructionists, putting up roadblocks instead of helping.

Collins says he will put up his own money if necessary to defeat Poloncarz, Ianello and Reynolds in this year's elections.

Poloncarz says he's disappointed to hear Collins' comments. He says the two have worked cooperatively, but Poloncarz says he's an independent watchdog, not a rubber stamp, which he claims Collins apparently wants.
