McGee Back On The Practice Field

Orchard Park, NY (WGR550)  -- Cornerback Terrence McGee returned to the practice field on a limited basis for the first time since having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee during the Bills bye week.  McGee had hoped to be back with the team in time for their week 10 game against the Titans, but has not been able to get back on the practice field until now.  Interim head coach Perry Fewell said McGee’s lack of participation had more to do with the corner’s comfort level instead of classifying it as a setback.

Linebacker Nic Harris was not at practice due to personal reasons.  Fewell expects the rookie back in time for Sunday’s matchup with the Miami Dolphins.  Tackle Demetrius Bell was absent from the practice field for a second straight day.

Running back Marshawn Lynch was not wearing pads during individual drills, but was practicing at full speed.  Lynch practiced without limitations yesterday.  He injured his shoulder during the Bills’ loss to Jacksonville Sunday.

Safety Jairus Byrd was limited during practice, but appeared to be moving well during the individual workouts during the media availability portion of practice.  Byrd was limited during Wednesday’s practice, and McGee sat out.  Cornerback Ashton Youboty watched practice from the sidelines for the second straight day as well.  Youboty is dealing with an ankle injury.

Defensive tackles John McCargo and Marcus Stroud watched practice today but did not participate.  Fewell says the pair is day-to-day and will have a “better feel” for their game status tomorrow.  McCargo has been bothered by a calf injury, while a knee problem has hampered Stroud.

Fewell said he likes what he sees out of newly signed offensive lineman Kendall Simmons.  The coach has not decided if Simmons will start on Sunday.  Fewell likes what he has seen in the two days of practice, adding he’s impressed by “the way he comes off the ball…and pops people off the line of scrimmage.”  Simmons was signed by the Bills on Tuesday after offensive lineman Eric Wood was placed on injured reserve.
