Buffalo, NY -- Buffalo Police are being kept busy this holiday weekend, investigating a string of five thefts that occurred over a seven-hour span from Friday evening into the early-morning hours Saturday.
In each case, the victims were approached by multiple suspects, some of whom displayed handguns.
The robberies were committed in different places on all sides of the city. The Buffalo News reports that the robbers struck either on the streets or inside businesses, making off with a combined total of around $1,000 in cash, cell phones, purses, wallets, credit cards and personal identification documents. One victim was reportedly kicked and punched by his assailants, and had to be treated for minor injuries.
Authorities haven't yet determined whether any of these crimes may be related.
