Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - While it certainly won't be the "snowmagedan" storm the mid-atlantic states saw over the weekend, winter has some plans for western New York this week. A winter storm watch is posted for the southern tier region late Tuesday into Wednesday. And the system will bring accumulating snow to all of western New York.
As snow overspreads the southern tier later Tuesday, 6 to 10 inches of accumulating snow is expected in the watch area, which includes Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties. The rest of western New York will see some snow of diminising accumulations as you move north through the region.
