The three highest tax hikes proposed by Niagara County districts- Niagara Wheatfield, Lewiston-Porter, and Wilson-- were all turned down, along with budgets in Clarence & Alden in Erie County, and Bemus Point in Chautauqua County.

The United States averages about one EF5 a year, but Oklahoma's was their first in nearly two years.
By comparison, around here, the 7 county WNY region has had 16 tornados in the past 13 years, averaging 1.23 per year, former Buffalo Chief Meterologist Tom Niziol says.
