Local gas prices are up another penny to an average of $3.85 per gallon of unleaded. That's the highest prices have been since early last August, according to the AAA. The pump price has gone up twenty cents in just one month.
There was a 7.8% increase in Canadian travel to the U.S. last year compared to 2010. Part of that increase was graphically shown in Erie County by a 4.5%

In the space of one work week, the average price for a gallon of unleaded in Western New York has jumped up a nickel. The current average is $3.82 according to the AAA. The statewide average of $3.86 is tied for 2nd-highest per gallon price in the lower 48 with Connecticut. Only California motorists pay more.
