A development team has proposed an apartment complex along Hertel Avenue between Starin and Wallace.  Business First reports the plan is for a pair of three-story buildings with nine apartments each and perhaps first-floor retail space.  The Buffalo Planning Board is expected to review the project today.  Construction could start later this year.

Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union has signed a 12-year agreement with Lockport Ice Arena & Sports Center Inc. for the naming rights to the new facility.  The rink will be called Cornerstone CFCU Arena when it opens in September.  No financial terms were made public.

Buffalo-based Delaware North is pouring out a new stadium offering - self-serve beer.  The machines will be in place for next Tuesday's Major League All-Star game in Minnesota.  Beer drinkers show ID at a cash register to buy a prepaid card.  Those cards are scanned before pouring.  A worker at each machine will card drinkers who appear to be under 30 and cut off

In order to stay competitive, United Airlines is outsourcing more than 600 jobs at 12 airports around the country.  Buffalo Niagara International is one of those.  The move affects ticket and gate agents and baggage handlers at airports served mostly by smaller United Express flights.  The cost cutting measure has been expected since May.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court Western District of New York reports bankruptcy filings fell to 399, the lowest June number since at least 2005.  Compared to the same month one year ago, bankruptcy filings dropped 18%.  The number of filings year-to-date has also slipped to a new low, decreasing 14.6% for the first six months of 2014 when compared to 2013.
