M&T Bank Corp's Board of Directors has approved a program to buy back up to $200 million worth of shares of common stock.  The repurchase program would occur during the first half of 2016.  The exact number of shares to be purchased and the price and timing of those purchases will be determined by the bank.

After reaching an agreement with Benderson Development, Tops Friendly Markets will assume operations of the current Sanborn Marketplace store, located at 2956 Saunders Settlement Road.  Tops will invest nearly $1 million in the store, doubling its size.

Locally, gas prices have eased by about a penny and a half since last week, to $2.30 for a gallon of unleaded.  Last year on this date, the local average was at $3.31.  The national average for a gallon of unleaded is down to $2.07.

The latest figures from the state Department of Labor show October was a pretty big month for jobs in construction.  Compared to the same month last year, there were 44-hundred new construction jobs in 2015, a jump of 19.5%.  Overall, the Buffalo-Niagara Falls region's unemployment was up 1.8% for October.
