Kaiser Health News reports the government paid out $1.5 billion to more than a third of the nation’s hospitals last year.  The payouts settle billing disputes at over 2,000 hospitals for 346,000 claims for treating Medicare patients admitted on or before Oct. 1, 2013.  The individual hospital payments were previously undisclosed.  Business First adds that WNY hospitals

OPEIU, Local 153, voted to extend the current collective bargaining agreement with BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York.
