News Director Steve Cichon has been a member of the award winning WBEN News team since 2003.  
Currently in his second stint with WBEN, from 1993 to 1998, Steve was a producer of news and sports programs on WBEN, including Buffalo Bills Football. He also filled in as the traffic reporter in SkyView 930.
The author and publisher of two books, The Complete History of Parkside  and Irv! Buffalo's Anchorman, Steve studies, preserves, and shares the pop culture history of Western New York, particularly Buffalo radio and television, as the Editor-In-Chief, Publisher, and founder of
An in-demand speaker in schools and in the community, Steve is always anxious to share his knowledge of journalism and Buffalo history with anyone willing to tolerate him. He's the winner of over a dozen Associated Press Awards, an Am-Pol Eagle Media Person of the Year, and a member of the Buffalo Business First 40 Under 40 Class of 2010.  
Proudly born and raised in Western New York, Steve grew up in South Buffalo and Orchard Park, attended Orchard Park High School and SUNY at Buffalo. He lives with his wife Monica (and their SPCA mutt) in Buffalo’s Parkside neighborhood, where they both take an active role in the historic community, and spend plenty of time and effort caring for and maintaining their 100-year-old E.B. Green designed home.
