A graduate of Buffalo State College, Neil got his start in broadcasting at WHLD-AM where he served as a producer and reporter. He also created, produced and hosted a retro-radio show called Strictly 70s. It was during this time he also explored other media, writing articles and reviews on entertainment and sports for local publications.
He also began his first stint with WBEN as a weekend anchor, and later became a regular on the Empire Sports Network as a fantasy football analyst for Fan TV. WNSA-FM was the next stop for McManus where he produced the morning-drive and Sunday, pre-game shows. Following the demise of WNSA and Empire, McManus embarked on a number of independent projects before arriving back at WBEN.
Neil describes himself as a political news junkie who prefers C-Span to ESPN although it is a tight race depending on the current sports season. When he’s not spending time with his family, you can find Neil cheering on the local sports teams not to mention his fantasy football squads. He also likes to read (Christopher Moore and Michael Crichton), cook (and eat) and listen to music (most any variety but nothing beats Aerosmith).
